The Samsung i900 Omnia is a smartphone unlike any other. It defines exactly what a fully featured web enabled phone is all about. Measuring in at 112 x 56.9 x 12.5 mm and weighing 122 grams, the i900 manages to pack more into a smaller frame. The i900 has a 3.2 inch TFT WQVGA touch screen. It has an awesome 240 x 400 pixel resolution and can display over 65,000 colors. It primarily uses a landscape view which makes text and web browsing a much more pleasant experience. The i900 has a 5 Megapixel camera with autofocus, image stabilizer, video and has a flash. You can record and playback video in H.263 and MPEG4 formats. It also has a secondary lens on the back for video conferencing.

The i900 comes with 128 MB of RAM and 256 MB of ROM, and can be expanded through the use of its microSD card slot. Then again, since the Omnia comes with 8 or 16 GB of internal storage right out of the box, you may have no need of a card for a little while. It’s powered by a blazing fast 624MHz Marvell PXA312 processor. You should be able to run multiple programs without slow down. It runs on Quad Band GSM frequencies and can transmit data across high speed HSDPA networks. Its battery life is rated as having a talk time of up to 5.50 hours and a standby by time of 500 hours.

This device has a large amount of connectivity features, so you’ll never be stuck without access to your PC, other devices or networks. The i900 comes with native Wi-Fi 802.11b/g, Bluetooth 2.0 (with A2DP profile), TV out and USB support. The microSD slot has already been mentioned. How about a built in GPS receiver too? The i900 truly comes fully loaded.

The i900, through the use of its built in Window's Mobile Media Player can playback various audio types, including MP3, AAC, WMA, OGG and AMR files. It can playback video in DivX, XviD, WMV, MP4 formats. It plays FM radio too. You can take all of your favorite tunes and TV shows with you wherever you go. It plays back polyphonic and MP3 ring tones as well.

As the i900 is a Microsoft Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional powered smartphone, it comes with a full suite of productivity software bundles. You can edit, create and view all of the popular Office document types with including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and PDF (view only) files with Pocket Office. It also has full email capabilities including Outlook synchronization and Microsoft Push Email technology. It supports POP3 and IMAP4 HTML based email clients. It supports SMS, EMS and MMS mobile messaging, and it also fully supports various instant messaging clients including MSN Messenger.

The Omni’s has the capabilities to display WAP 2.0, xHTML, HTML and RSS feeds through its web browser. All of the basics are there such as calendar, games (java), address book, scheduler, voice memo and messages. This phone definitely has it all.
